To make this refined sugar free, substitute the brown sugar for 1/2 cup of coconut sugar, or use 1/3 cup of maple syrup instead.

I prefer making this with regular flour, but for Pesach or to make it gluten free, the almond flour option works too!

I've also tried this with half pumpkin purée and half butternut squash purée, and that works well too.
